Originally I had printed out my zine on copier paper (80 gsm), but I didn't like the flimsy look of them, so I decided that once I had worked out my final zine I would print it on card (220 gsm). After doing a trial print I noticed that the effect that printing on card gave was a more washed out and less vibrant colour scheme. Although this was not intentional I feel it added to the theme of the zine. I also wanted to add a final touch to the zine. From watching those around me as well as my own habits, after buying and reading a magazine or other publication it usually either gets thrown away or put on a shelf and left. I wanted to include something within my zine to discourage this. After brainstorming some ideas I decided that the best solution would be to put the band posters of bands that have performed on the pier onto the reverse of my zine. With each zine featuring a different band. The reason I chose band posters instead of any other image is because the people that played on the pier was one of the main things that people remember about the pier in the 50's and 60's. I chose each of the above bands because I feel they are well known and each has a different style that makes it unique.
